Ms. Perez serves as the Foreign Policy Advisor (POLAD) and advises the Commander and his staff on foreign policy matters related to the 25th Air Force’s mission and global activities. She arrived at her position in October 2016.

Prior to her current assignment, Ms. Perez was the POLAD at First Air Force, Air Forces Northern (AFNORTH) and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Continental United States NORAD Region at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. She also has extensive experience serving as a Foreign Service officer for the U.S. Department of State. Her assignments include several tours at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico. In 2012, she was the International Narcotics & Law Enforcement Section’s policy unit chief where she coordinated bilateral and U.S. interagency structures and processes to streamline the implementation of over $1.9 billion in bilateral security (Merida Initiative) programs. Her other assignments in Mexico include a tour as economics officer and political officer as well as a detail to the U.S. Treasury Office as a financial economist.

Outside of Mexico, Ms. Perez served one year in Baghdad, Iraq managing over $30 million in anti-corruption programming. She began her Foreign Service career in Tel Aviv, Israel where she worked in a rotational assignment as a vice consul, economics officer, and a political officer covering issues related to the Gaza Strip. In Washington, she worked for the U.S. Department of State’s African Affairs Bureau as a desk officer with the Sudan Programs Group and a financial economist with the Economic Policy Staff.
