CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT THOMAS L. BAREFOOT

Chief Master Sgt. Thomas L. Barefoot is the Career Enlisted Manager of the 361st Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group headquartered at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The 361st ISR Group is a 25th Air Force direct report unit providing specialized light airborne ISR forces to Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Combat Command, and joint SOF units around the globe. The group is comprised of four intelligence squadrons and multiple detachments around the world. He advises the Group Commander on enlisted manning and professional development for all enlisted Airmen including enlisted aviators, maintenance, logistics, communications, supply, mission support, resource advisors, training and facilities management personnel. 

Barefoot enlisted in the Air Force in November 1991 under the Delayed Enlistment Program and was called to active duty 2 June 1992. After completion of Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, in July 1992, Barefoot completed language training at the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, California and technical training at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas to complete Cryptologic Linguist training in December 1993. 

Barefoot is a career airborne cryptologic language analyst who has served in a variety of operational and leadership positions in the Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Agency, Air Education Training Command, Air Combat Command and Air Force Special Operations Command. He has flown missions aboard RC-135S/V/W, EP-3, EC-130H, MC-130H, MC-130P, AC-130U, and MH-53 aircraft. In addition to active flying assignments, Barefoot served a tour supporting the U-2 mission in Korea and one tour as an Airborne Cryptologic Linguist Instructor. Barefoot’s assignments include: Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona; Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea; Kadena Air Base, Japan; Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas; and Hurlburt Field AFB, Florida.
