Beale Air Force Base, Calif. --
General James M. Holmes, commander of Air Combat Command, visits the operations floor at Beale Air Force Base Calif., July 26, 2017. Beale AFB is home to Distributed Ground System-Two (DGS-2) and is responsible for near-real time exploitation and analysis of signals and imagery derived data across six combatant commands. During Holmes’ visit he received briefs on various innovative initiatives in development, such as how to apply 3D printers to intelligence training, machine learning labeling, virtual reality and optical bar camera. The visit also included a tour of the new innovation lab, as well as the new intelligence building, which is currently under construction.
“The places I go around in the Air Force and see the most innovation are in intelligence organizations and med groups,” said Holmes. “The Airmen there are working really hard to try to find ways to do things new and differently.” (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Dana Cable)
